Limiters
If consumption batch represents more than average consumption between 2 deliveries, you are not ordering the part every time you fax its Pick-Up Order. If this batch quantity is important, it can unbalance your inbound flow and disturb your inbound transportation organization (truck overload).
To avoid peak in the ordering, you can use limiters.
A limiter is the maximum quantity that you can order whatever the value of the quantity to order calculated.
At least a limiter has to be equal to the average consumption between 2 deliveries.
The effect is a smoothing of the ordered quantities to facilitate the optimization of the transportation organization.
