Batch Building Box for rubber
We are going to set-up 3 Batch Building Boxes for the 3 types of rubber. Each of them will be filled out by batches of blades using the same rubber.
The speed of the extrusion line is fixed and each blade reference has a different length. It means that the duration to produce the same quantity varies from a reference to an other. If all the cards in a BBB have the same associated quantity, how can we respect its defined production time?
The answer is in the choice of the batch size for each blade and the way to fill out the BBB for rubber.
If we gather the references in 2 families of lengths (30 and 60 centimeters) and we consider that a batch time is approximately the production time of the middle length of the family, we can say for example that the batch time of the second family is twice the time of the first one.
It means that a card of a reference of the family B is roughly equivalent to 2 cards of the family A in the BBB for rubber.
We put one piece of velcro behind the cards of the A family references and 2 pieces for B family. Then, based on the number of pieces of velcro available on the card, the card will consume one or 2 velcro locations on the BBB.
This is why you can see in the photo a quantity indicated at each velcro location. This quantity increases from bottom to top by multiple of the quantity of a card of the family A. In order to avoid any mistake, each card of the same family has the same color.
In the photo, the yellow card is a 6400 units card and one Velcro represents 3200 units, in consequence this card consumes 2 Velcros.
